Reinstalling Windows XP Guide.

If in any case you need to reformat you windows XP computer[there can be many causes such as virus etc..] you need to do as follows..

{You can proceed only if you..
*Have a windows xp cd
*Have taken Backup of your Files and Drivers[softwares required will be posted in the end]
*have set your computer to boot from cd}

1]Start your computer with the XP CD inserted,press any key when asked.

2]Next you need to press ENTER in order to clean install XP.Do not press R[for repairing with recovery console].

3]Next the setup displays you the LICENSING AGREEMENT.Make sure you read it and then press F8 to accept it and proceed.

4]Next it will search for previous installations..continue without repairing the previous installations.

5]Next it will ask for the partition to install XP.If you intend to delete a partition Press D.And repartition as per your requirements.

6]Continue the setup by selecting the desired partiton to install XP in.

7]In the next screen Setup will ask you to select the file system,Select NTFS [not NTFS Quick],and proceed....after formating the drive your PC will Reboot.

8]After rebooting it will ask for Press any Key to boot from CD...DO NOT PRESS ANY KEY there.

9]After copying the files it will ask for Personal Info..fill it and proceed..

10]Next the setup will ask for the Product Key...Enter it correctly and choose a name for your computer in the next screen,and set your time zone..choose workgroup domain etc..

11]Your PC will reboot after completion[ignore the boot from CD],and ask for internet connection,press SKIP[as per your wish].It will give option to activate your Copy,Ignore it for now[Hoping you will activate it later].

12]Setup your Login Account and install a password and YOU ARE DONE!!

[REMEMBER TO INSTALL ANTIVIRUS ETC..]
